“Python in the Cloud” Course Author

 

Moonrise Labs is a new coding education platform that uses a lab-based approach to teach software and cloud development skills to learners at various competency levels.

We are currently looking for an individual who has both strong writing skills, as well as the technical ability to create small demos and projects on the topic of cloud computing with AWS and Python.

Responsibilities:
-Create written content that walks users through the core technical concepts related to using AWS and Python together, aimed at beginners.
-Create small code demos and projects that integrate with the flow of the rest of the course.
-Contribute to our GitHub repo, validate the code you've written, and test it in our web app.
-Participate in feedback rounds between you and an editor, and communicate reliably with them.

Requirements/Experience:
-2+ years of experience working with Python
-2+ years of experience working with AWS
-Some experience working with Python and AWS together (using Boto3, etc)
-Familiarity with git & GitHub
-Some formal background in general writing, with strong attention to detail
-Strong research and comprehension skills, especially as it relates to technical docs/books/blogs

Nice to have:
-Experience creating courses and curriculum from scratch
-Experience with git & GitHub in a team environment
-Some formal background in technical writing
-Live within +/- 6 hours of PST

Compensation:
Course author fee starts at $2,500 (depending on experience in the subject and whether you would also like to record audio/video content for the course).
