General Course Author (Open Call for Proposals)

Moonrise Labs is a new coding education platform that uses a lab-based approach to teach software and cloud development skills to learners at various competency levels.

We are currently looking for individuals who have both strong writing skills, as well as the technical ability to create small demos and projects in subject areas they consider themselves proficient/experts in. Our current focus is to create content that teaches programming fundamentals alongside modern cloud computing services, primarily across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. This posting is an open call for course proposals (see bottom of page for form).

Responsibilities:
-Create written content that walks users through technical topics.
-Create small code demos and projects that integrate with the flow of the rest of the course.
-Contribute to our GitHub repo, validate the code you've written, and test it in our web app.
-Participate in feedback rounds between you and an editor, and communicate reliably with them.

Requirements/Experience:
-Familiarity with git & GitHub
-Some formal background in general writing, with strong attention to detail
-Strong research and comprehension skills, especially as it relates to technical docs/books/blogs
-Some coding background (school, bootcamp, internship, online certs + a portfolio, etc.)

Nice to have:
-Experience with git & GitHub in a team environment
-Some formal background in technical writing
-Experience as a junior/associate developer on a team
-Live within +/- 6 hours of PST

Compensation:
Course author fee starts at $2,500 (depending on experience in the subject and whether you would also like to record audio/video content for the course).
